Thank you to all the parents and fans that came out to cheer us on last Friday night and support our Take Down Cancer Event. It was a very successful event raising lots of money for both the Take Down Cancer Event and Andrew Peters. The Peters family wishes to say thank you to everyone for their support. They were very appreciative of the support for Andrew.
The wrestlers are wrestling very well right now and continuing to get better every day. Not only did we dominate the three varsity duals on Friday night, our JV dominated as well. We as coaches cannot tell you enough how well the kids are working and prepping to be where we want to be at the end of the season. If we keep it up, no one will be able to stop us from our goal. With the three varsity wins, it put us at 8-1. We are currently ranked 7th as a team and now have 6 ranked wrestlers. Tyson Peitz #4, Max McEnelly #7, Tim Stapleton #1, Cade Mueller #1, Mitch Garnatz #10, and Bennett Weber #6. The next couple weeks are very busy for the team.
Saturday, I think we all had fun playing cards, foosball, or gaming. There was definitely enough food.
1/17/19 Thursday, the JV/V are off to Orono for a triangular. The bus leaves at 3 PM and wrestling begins at 5 pm in Orono.
1/18/19 is the Ruckus at East Ridge High School. The JV/V and a few 7th-8th graders will have an early dismissal at 1:00 PM and the bus leaves at 1:15 PM. Wrestling begins at 4:30 PM. There is a 1lb allowance on Friday, example 106=109.
1/19/19, Saturday is day 2 of the Ruckus. The bus leaves at 6:15 AM and wrestling begins at 9:00 AM. There will be an additional 1lb allowance. Example 106=110
1/21/19, Monday is a JR high event at Watertown. The bus will leave at 3:30 PM. Wrestling begins at 4:30 PM.
1/24/19, Thursday we host a dual with Hutchinson. That is parents & alumni night and hall of fame. Weigh-ins are at 5:00 PM. Wrestling starts at 6 PM and parents need to be there at 6 pm for the parent’s night recognition. This is for parents of wrestlers and managers. Andrew Peters’ sister will be at this event selling bracelets for testicular cancer awareness.
1/25/19 – set up for the event we host on 1/26/19. All wrestlers will have to be there to help set up. Time is to be determined yet.
1/26/19 we have 3 events. There is a JV/V team dual at Kasson Mantorville and we host a 9th grade qualifier tournament in Waconia at the high school. So 7-9th grade wrestlers not going to Kasson, will be wrestling at the 9th grade qualifier. We can only have 1 wrestler per weight for the 9th grade qualifier. Those wrestlers are determining what weight they are going to wrestle, which means there will be some wrestle offs. Any wrestlers who are not competing at Kasson or the 9th grade qualifier will be working the event we are hosting. We hope parents will also help work the tournament.
