Wildcats K-6 Wresling

Nick Hayes, Lincoln Vick and Sam Stanton all take first at Burnsville!

2014-2015 Youth Tournament Calendar

Now that we have gotten a month's worth of practice under our belts, I thought I would reissue a breakdown of tournaments moving forward that are within reasonable driving distance of Waconia.  For those newer wrestlers, I color coded a group of tournaments that we might expect there to be a more moderate level of competition based on past events.  With the kids having some understanding of the wrestling concepts, it might be time to acclimate them to the tournament environment.  Again, this is a personal choice for each family based on whether you think your son is ready for competition.  The next three weekends in Watertown, Rockford and Glencoe-Silver Lake offer some good starter opportunities.  If you have any questions about how to attend and what to expect, please reach out to your mentor family.  Pat Willis will announce each week where the coaches will be present.

Coaches Notes

Here is a copy of the latest emails sent:

(Monday 12/15) I want to congratulate all the wrestlers for a successful Prior Lake tournament on Sunday!  The team took 3rd place, going 3-1 on the day.  The reports so far are the Individual tournament also went well.  Let me know if there were any major problems (besides seating for parents on the team side).  I thought this was a nice event to get everyone involved, despite a few new-tournament-hiccups.  Thank you to all the parents and coaches that helped out.  I love that we have so many people willing to jump in and lend a hand.

Practice Monday has been rescheduled to Tuesday!  This is for the Southview Christmas concert taking over the high school.  Practice on Thursday is unchanged.  The high school will be wrestling against Hutchinson at that time... all youth wrestlers get in free of charge!  Stop by and cheer on our team.

Team warmups!  Please return the team uniforms and bags to practice on Tuesday.  We will need to re-assign these before the next team event in January.

Holiday Practices!  We normally do have optional practices over Christmas break to keep the kids in shape and ready to go.  I'll send another update when we get the dates/times arranged.
